Biography — A New Chapter Powered by Creativity and Curiosity
My name is Ruben Langedijk, senior motion graphic designer and founder of Craftopia. After graduating from the Graphic Lyceum Amsterdam, I started freelancing as a graphic designer and DTP-er for clients like De Telegraaf, AT5, and Jiskefet. Through friends, I discovered the world of event visuals, and was instantly hooked.
In 1999, I officially joined the VJ collective Vision Impossible. Creating visuals and seeing them live on massive screens the same night was electric. We designed entire concepts, from tickets and posters to animated intros — for events in nightlife and beyond. Over the years, I worked on shows for Sensation, Vrienden van Amstel, Q-dance, Dance Valley, Transmission, and corporate clients like Philips, Heineken, and Footlocker.
After 25 exciting years, it was time for a new chapter. With Craftopia, I continue creating motion design for events and now expand into social media content and game design, with AI as a powerful creative tool. Whether it’s speeding up workflows or exploring new styles, I embrace AI where it makes sense, while always keeping a strong human touch.
